Nice post about a very real problem. Our current lifestyle is driven by constant consumption of a finite resource.

I see two rational choices: Lose at least half the world's population and return to an agrarian, earth-based lifestyle; or get real about nuclear energy. Nuclear fission is pretty much the only workable solution to keep the air conditioners and computers running for the short term (next 100 years or so) while we work on fusion and other solutions. Obviously, it has its downside, but really, what options are there?

This is the 500 lb gorilla in the room.We are running out of fossil fuels. Some are aware ,most are not.And some are either in denial or could care less.
